Northwest Spirit Rotary Club Scholarship
 
This award shall be presented to a student who is continuing study in a Canadian post-secondary institution or apprenticeship program. 
 
The recipient of the award must normally reside in Rotary District 5370 (see map below)
Preference will be given to Indigenous students. Rotarians, their children or grandchildren are ineligible to receive this award as it has been partially funded by a grant from Rotary District 5370. 
 
The award shall consist of a cheque or electronic funds transfer in the amount of $1000.00.
 
Students can apply for this award by emailing yrempel@telusplanet.net with the subject line Scholarship Application. Include your full name and contact information in the email and have the following attached: 
  • most recent transcript of academic record 
  • proof of acceptance or continuing enrollment in a Canadian post-secondary institution or apprenticeship program
  • 2 letters of reference 
  • A brief description of extra-curricular involvement in your community through sports, student council, volunteering or clubs and associations 
  • Using a media of your choice (e.g., video, power point, written essay, animation short, original artwork…) briefly describe how your studies relate to one or more of the 7 Rotary International areas of focus. https://www.rotary.org/en/our-causes
Criteria selection will be based on the above list. The selection will be made by the Northwest Spirit Rotary Club Scholarship Selection Committee. 
Before the awards funds are paid, the successful applicant must confirm enrollment by emailing yrempel@telusplanet.net proof of tuition payment by September 15, 2023. 
Application deadline is May 31, 2023
 
Funds for this scholarship were raised through the sale of orange shirts and a District 5370 scholarship grant.Thank you to the Orange Shirt Society for allowing us to participate in Orange Shirt Day.
